Bag turner & kicker

Bag conveying and inspection

Halpaq bag turner or kicker ensure that bags are positioned optimally after filling and sealing on the conveyor. They automatically lay down and orient the bags to guarantee a continuous flow and a seamless transition to the next stages, such as palletising, labelling or secondary packaging.

Comprehensive expertise in bag sealing

After filling and sealing, bags must be oriented and laid down in a controlled manner to continue correctly along the logistics line. Halpaq bag lay-down machines perform this task automatically, adapting the movement to the format, weight and material of the bag. Each solution is custom-designed to integrate perfectly with the factory layout and production rate.

Two main technologies are available: the bag turner, which grips the top of the bag and rotates it 90° before tipping it naturally onto the conveyor; and the bag kicker, which uses an arm or pneumatic cylinder to orient the bag sideways towards a perpendicular conveyor. These devices ensure precise orientation without impact or damage, while maintaining a stable flow of up to 2,000 bags per hour.

The equipment is available in painted steel or 304/316 stainless steel for food environments, with conveyors running at variable speeds from 10 to 40 m/min. They incorporate safety devices such as guards, presence sensors and emergency stops for reliable and ergonomic use.

Proposed solutions

Bag turner

  • The bag is gripped by the upper part as it exits the machine.
  • The device performs a 90° rotation while the conveyor continues to move forward.
  • The bottom of the bag maintains its trajectory, then the release of the top causes the bag to tip naturally onto the conveyor belt.
  • Result: quick and precise orientation, without excessive impact or damage to the bag.

Bag kicker

  • The bag moves forward on the conveyor to the kicker’s area of action.
  • An arm or pneumatic cylinder pushes the bag sideways at a 90° angle onto a perpendicular conveyor.
  • The bottom of the bag is automatically positioned at the front, ensuring consistent orientation for the rest of the process.
